GT (with you own car)
I had the chance to participate in the driving course that the ACS organized with its partner Sports-Promotion on the circuit Club of Magny-Cours.
To find yourself driving a formula car with more than 200 horsepower and weighing less than 450kg is not without some apprehension. The faces of the fifteen participants, during the briefing of the beginning of the day, testified!
After a short and very effective theoretical part, a detailed and sporty tour of the circuit, it was time to slip into the suit and skin of a racing driver. After the first laps, we understand better why we talk about motorsport. There is not a moment when the pilot can afford to be passive. The coaches did not stop repeating throughout the day: “it’s when a car does nothing that it becomes dangerous”.
The strength of this course? Without a doubt, the debriefing of his instructor at the end of each series of 6 rounds. Where to slow down later? Where to accelerate sooner? Where to better anticipate? So many lessons that have allowed participants (of all ages, with or without motor sport experience) to improve their lap time by more than 10 seconds between the first and the last series of the day, incredible!
