World Champion 2018 and European Champion 2018

Our driver Christophe Hurni made an outstanding performance this weekend at Monza driving his Ferrari 488 Challenge of the Team Zénith by Sports-Promotion.

Christophe and the Team Zénith by Sports-Promotion win the two titles “European Champion and World Champion” of the Ferrari Challenge Coppa Shell.

A result of great prestige, the Swiss driver Christophe Hurni and the team obtain 2 exceptional titles.

This weekend is amazing ! I can’t believe it!

Friday I realize the pole in qualifying and wins the first race of the meeting.

Saturday, in the rain, I miss the pole for 11 thousandths, the goal was to finish the race to score the last points against the Canadian Erik Cheung, still listed with me for the title. I achieved a solid 6th place that allows me to win the European title. This is the fantastic result of the all team! I am really happy to be able to offer this title to all those who supported me and worked hard throughout the season to achieve this. This title represents the passion and friendship that were our line throughout this season.

Sunday, the dream … the World Final with more than 50’000 spectators present, I start from the pole position ahead of the 30 best Ferrari drivers of the three continents “Asia, United States and Europe”. From the first corner, I take the lead and dig a small gap on the Lebanese Tani Hanna. The entry of the Safety Car made me a bit more complicated by bringing the whole cars together. At the restart, I had to fight to keep my first place and dig a small gap that I maintained until the end of the race. I do not believe it … everyone screams in my radio, we are world champions!

This supreme title closes an incredible season! After 35 years of racing and car passion, I realize a dream by becoming World Champion at the wheel of a Ferrari.

I thank Team Zenith for allowing me to live this incredible dream and to have trusted me.

We don’t have words to describe the emotions we experienced here in Monza. Winning the Coppa Shell European Challenge Championship on Saturday and winning the World Champion 2018 title on Sunday reward the efforts made over the past two years. After embarking on such an ambitious and important sport project we are able to fight at the top of this very strong championship.

We thank Christophe for making us live so many emotions, but also the whole team who have never stopped working with enthusiasm and professionalism.
